Hi everyone! Hope you’re well. Now, if you’ve recently gotten a new nanny, or if you have one who you’d like to empower with basic First Aid skills, I’m happy to let you know that the Amara Initiative will be holding a training on Saturday 11 May 2019. See more details in the poster down below.
First Aid is the first and immediate assistance given to any person suffering a serious illness or injury. This care is provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery.
Many times, we leave our children in the care of our nannies and house girls, so it’s important that they know how to handle a situation where baby suffers a sudden illness or injury. The Amara Initiative was started by Alice Kibagendi, whose baby choked while being fed by the nanny. Alice has graciously been very open with her story, which I wrote here: My Baby Choked to Death, but she Continues to Save Lives Today.
I strongly urge you to enroll your nanny in this training, as it will greatly empower her. Knowing that your nanny or house girl has basic First Aid skills will also help put you at ease. Kindly also share this information with your mom network; with your friends, colleagues and relatives. You just never know who could be seriously looking for such a training. Tell a mom to tell a mom 🙂
