The new-look Mummy Tales is finally here! Sometime in November last year, I decided I wanted to give my blog a new look. I wanted to incorporate some new elements, tandem with the growth of the blog.
It’s been a while achieving this, but I’m glad it’s finally done.
Here are some of the changes I made:
The color. I have changed it from the previously dominant green, to an orange-brown hue – colors I got from this photo which Baba Kitty took of a silhouette of Kitty and I as we celebrated his three-month birthday (oohhh, the joys of being a brand new parent, you celebrate every month ‘birthday’
). I love the photo so much, and I decided to make it the Mummy Tales ‘identity’.
It will be now easier for you to find back posts according to their category, courtesy of the category feature in the menu area. The link also has sub-categories.
There is also a subscribe button, which you can subscribe to so that you can get an update on your email each time I put up a new post.
There is now a ‘Search here’ button, which will allow you to freely to explore the blog and search for posts with the key words that you would be looking for.
I have also introduced a Directory which contains listings of resources that I have noticed are most sought after by Kenyan moms. I have listed down lamaze and childbirth experts, breastfeeding experts, hospitals, gynaecologists, paediatricians and dermatologists (those based in Nairobi – for now). This directory lists down service providers that moms access frequently during their motherhood journey. I do take note that this directory is not exhaustive, and you can always add a contact that I have not included. Service providers in these and related fields are welcome to avail their contacts and range of services for inclusion in this directory. This can be done by clicking on ‘Submit A Listing’ on the top of the directory page.
Feel free to share your opinion or feedback about a post, or participate in a discussion by doing so in the comments section beneath each post.
If you know of any upcoming events that are targeted at moms, parents, families, babies or women’s networking forums, you can drop me an email at maryanne@mummytales.com and I will put it up on the website, so that more people can get to know about the event.
Like us on Facebook and participate in more discussions there!
