As the world marks breast cancer awareness month this October, Aga Khan University Hospital will tomorrow Saturday October 7, 2017 hold a free breast and cervical cancer symposium at the hospital’s lecture theatre in Nairobi.
The event will provide a platform for cancer patients and their families, survivors and people passionate about cancer to interact, learn, share their experiences.
A team of Aga Khan University Hospital specialists that includes; oncologists, gynaecologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, oncology nurses, nutritionists, and counseling psychologists will be available for one on one consultation and to answer any questions from the participants.
Among the topics to be discussed will include; breast cancer screening and imaging, cervical cancer screening and Human Papilloma Vaccination against cervical cancer, breast pathology, what patients need to know about radiation therapy, management options for cervical cancer treatment, surgical options for breast cancer treatment, breast cancer survivorship –the major concerns, psychological support in cancer among others. The forum is free for all.
